A closer look at laser area heating
What the illuminated region in our development images represents, and what a demonstration can show.
The development image on our homepage shows light covering a selected component area. Our approach uses an area of illumination rather than a single spot scanning across the component.
Chip-size recognition and automatic spot adjustment are part of the workstation’s development. They help establish an initial heating area. Size matching alone does not determine the full process: the board, component and solder also matter.
A visible light footprint is not a temperature map. The colour in an image is not a calibrated temperature measurement. Temperature feedback and the selected process profile have a separate role in managing the heating process.
When we share a component-removal demonstration, it should be read as a demonstration of that task under its stated conditions. Inspection of a soldered assembly is a separate step.
